yasir khan
Founder & Executive Producer
Journalist, filmmaker, podcaster. Yasir brings with him more than 2 decades of industry experience - from Al Jazeera to CBC to CNN to National Geographic. Before starting Storystan, Yasir was Head of Digital Video and Podcasts at Al Jazeera English, where he created and ran the channel’s Webby-winning digital documentary strand, AJ Shorts, and its first bespoke podcast, The Debrief. He may have won a few things along the way, including Editor of the Year at the Drum Online Media Awards, a CINE Golden Eagle, and multiple Webby nominations. And he’s got an unending supply of top dad jokes.
jasmin
bauomy
Lead Producer & Host of "How I got so mixed up"
Before joining Storystan, Jasmin helped launch Al Jazeera English’s (AJE) first news and current affairs podcast, The Debrief, as a host and producer. She then went on to be a senior producer at Jetty - Al Jazeera’s podcasting wing. Her work on the war in Yemen, and skin colour politics in South Sudan for the Jetty podcast The Take was nominated and longlisted for multiple awards.
Jasmin’s decade and a half in the media industry has taken her from Europe, to the Middle East, to Southeast Asia, and from podcasting, to PR, to video production, to social media management. Her photography is also a bit of an instagram phenomenon.
Fun Fact: Yasir was actually Jasmin's professor at the American University in Cairo, and, ten years later, her work colleague. So, she's had more than a decade to learn to appreciate and laugh at his dad-jokes.

laurentiu
colintineanu
Laurentiu's 16-year journalism career has put him in the newsrooms of Al Jazeera English, Deutsche Welle, Radio France International and Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty and many others.
He met Yasir & Jasmin when they got together to launch The Debrief podcast at Al Jazeera English, and he took on the roles of host and audio editor.
Laurentiu fell in love with audio storytelling when he got his first radio job in 2003. He went from reporting news, to hosting morning shows, to producing and editing narrative documentaries.
His journalism in Romania won him multiple awards, but that hasn’t helped him understand where Yasir's supply of (top) dad jokes comes from.
